Ken Drabinsky’s philosophy is simple: create opportunities to connect with the community and bring joy to people through music. That passion was shaped by decades of performing with outstanding local musicians who have helped define Calgary’s rich musical history.
Following a successful career in geology—while maintaining music as a lifelong parallel passion—Ken has dedicated himself to giving back to the community, inspiring students to discover the saxophone and aerophone through encouragement, enthusiasm, and a genuine love of music.
As founder, artistic director, manager, and performer with the EH TRAIN Ensembles, now in their third year, Ken has assembled an exceptional group of versatile musicians committed to entertaining audiences with outstanding performances.
For Ken, music is more than performance—it’s about building community, creating connections, mentoring the next generation, and sharing the joy that live music brings to every audience.
